Sign up for the Newsletter? We are going to store your email address.
There is no tracking on the email. We store it on a separate (equally) secure database. Want off of it? Reply to any email and request. This is meant to be simple, straight-forward, and human.
Choose your own Settings? Not Cookies.
Cookies store information on your device. We do not do that. We use your browsers own storage system to track things like Colorway, Filters, Sound, Theme, and other preferences you select.
What is difference between Analytics and Cookies? Analytics helps us measure and report web traffic.
We want a basic understanding of how the site is being interacted with. And you do not need Cookies to do that. We may count anonymized aggregate information for A/B Testing or to answer questions we have to direct feature or marketing focus. (Though I think we all know no one uses QR Codes from Posters without this info, haha.) These are an anonymous tally. Not user snooping or “per visitor user journey stitching.”
Opt-out via Global Privacy Control (GPC), or the older “Do Not Track” (DNT). We honor both. Everyone should.
Detailed
What Personal Data Does NICE Collect?
- Email Address: Self submitted. This information consists of the agreement of how we send our newsletter to you. Which will be covered in a Confirmation Email.
In addition to the above, we may automatically collect the following types of information:
- Cookies: We set none. Your settings on this site (Colorway, Theme, Sound, etc.) live in your browser’s localStorage. That storage exists solely to honor a preference you explicitly chose, never leaves your device, and is readable by no one but you. This is also why there is no cookie banner. Nothing on this site stores or reads anything that requires your consent. If that ever changes, we would sooner reconsider the tool than add the banner.
- Analytics: Without the tracking. We use Fathom Analytics and Vercel’s analytics and performance tooling. Both are cookieless by design. They produce aggregated, anonymized counts (pages visited, browser, country, load times) with no persistent identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and no advertising anything. You can read their practices at:
- https://usefathom.com/legal/privacy (opens in new tab)
- https://vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy (opens in new tab)
- https://vercel.com/docs/speed-insights (opens in new tab)- Website: Activity information. Such as application logs, IP address, browser information, and metrics generated in the normal operation of a website. “Application logs” are text files our hosting provider (Vercel) records as part of serving any website, including page visits and errors. We do not mine them, enrich them, or join them to anything else.
Does NICE Collect Children’s Data?
- We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use Personal Data from children under 16 years of age, and no part of the Service is directed to children under the age of 16. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Data without your consent, you may alert us by using the contact details provided in the “How To Contact Us” section below. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Data from children under 16, we will promptly take steps to delete such information.
Changes to this Privacy Policy?
- NICE may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make changes in the way we use Personal Data, the effective date will change and be effective going forward.
How to Contact Us?
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the privacy of your Personal Data by NICE, or if you would like to exercise your rights to your Personal Data, please send a detailed message to support@nicegroupofpeople.com. Please specify the subject of your request on the subject line and in the body of your message (e.g. “Request for access to my personal data”, “Request for California Privacy Information” etc.). We will provide the requested information and make every effort to resolve your concerns.
So...
Just be cool. I know it is hard in this day and age. We will do our best too. (Despite all the Detailed speak above lovingly cribbed from Bandcamp.)
